The CAPE School: A Beacon of Opportunity
Located in the heart of Kouk Trach Village, The CAPE School – sponsored by The COPE NGO, is a free General English Program (GEP) initiative that empowers over 200 students annually. This school bridges educational gaps in underserved communities by providing essential English language skills, basic computer soft skills, and other life skills – opening doors to higher education and better job opportunities.
At the heart of this program lies a deep collaboration between The COPE NGO and Moringa Tree Maison, whose Voluntourism Program directly funds these transformative projects. A portion of every volunteer’s program fee—up to 21%—is reinvested into The COPE NGO, ensuring the sustainability of The CAPE School and its mission to create brighter futures.
Making Every Moment Count
As a volunteer, you play a vital role in shaping brighter futures, even in just 3–4 days. Here’s how your efforts leave a lasting legacy:
Students participating in enhanced English programs show a 20–30% improvement in test scores over an academic year, positioning them for better educational and career opportunities (UNESCO Education Monitoring Report, 2021).
Your involvement ensures that students receive free foundational English education, a privilege that saves families nearly $750 in private university fees—an unattainable cost for most rural households.
Volunteers help students master essential skills early, so they’re ready to succeed in university without needing expensive supplementary language programs.
As a volunteer, you provide students with direct interaction opportunities, helping them practice and improve their English in meaningful ways. This real-world communication fosters confidence and prepares them for future academic and professional challenges.
English proficiency increases employability by up to 50%, particularly in Cambodia’s thriving tourism and service sectors, which account for approximately 32% of the country’s GDP (World Bank Cambodia Economic Report, 2022).
Improved education contributes to 15–20% higher family incomes, breaking cycles of poverty and creating sustainable livelihoods (UNICEF Cambodia Data, 2020).
Your efforts extend beyond the classroom, uplifting entire families and communities through increased access to resources and opportunities.
By fostering confidence and communication skills, you empower students to aspire to leadership roles within their communities.
Volunteers serve as inspiring figures, introducing students to global perspectives and fresh teaching methods, while encouraging them to pursue leadership roles in their communities.
Your time in the classroom helps students overcome barriers in self-expression, empowering them to articulate ideas confidently.
Your presence introduces students to global perspectives, encouraging mutual respect and fostering understanding between cultures.
Does 3-4 Days of Teaching Really Help?
Absolutely. Here’s how:
The Moringa Tree Maison Commitment

This collaboration ensures that every dollar spent on your stay is maximized for impact, funding essential resources such as:
- Student textbooks, materials, and supplies.
- Teacher training and curriculum development.
- Maintenance of facilities and expansion of educational programs.
Leaving a Legacy

The Moringa Tree Maison is the place you want to stay at. Their optional Voluntour program made my Cambodia trip!
Moringa Tree Maison is a combination homestay and boutique hotel. Rooms can be booked nightly or as part of The COPE NGO initiative, Bricks of Hope Voluntour Program that the hotel sponsors.
I came to Moringa Tree Maison as part of the 8-day voluntouring opportunity that they sponsor. The 7 of us that came to volunteer for the week were all from different countries and the staff did everything to make us all feel at home and welcome all week.
The staff was amazing. They knew all of our names and greeted us with friendly smiles, a cold towel, and the signature Moringa Tree cold beverage when we returned from our day out. They did everything they could to make our stay a memorable one.
The property itself is beautifully decorated, with tranquil gardens and an organic garden that supplies all of the veggies served in their meals.
They are eco-conscience with solar providing almost half of the property’s electricity. You also won’t find plastic, single-use products on-site.
The best part is that all the people they train and hire are all from their community.
The Voluntour program through The COPE NGO, that I was there for, is sponsored by the hotel. It was an 8 day/7 night opportunity to build a house in a local community with full-on days of playing tourist with a licensed guide. The 7 of us all said that this program was the most memorable part of our individual trips. I will be telling everyone coming to Cambodia that this is the best tour that they can do here.
Whether you want to stay at Moringa Tree Maison for a couple of nights or go for the Voluntouring program, you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend Moringa Tree Maison.
I want to share my amazing experience with the local volunteer program I participated in. The program offers unique and fascinating experiences, and the hotel where the volunteers stay is simply stunning!
The hotel features breathtaking views, comfortable rooms, and high-quality facilities. Every detail in this place seems carefully planned, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
But what stood out the most to me was the hosting staff. They were caring, friendly, and always ready to help. From my very first conversation with the team, I felt like I was part of something bigger. They took the time to explain the program to us, its goals, and the impact we could have on the local community.
The feeling of making a real contribution and connecting with the community was joyful and fulfilling. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to contribute, learn, and enjoy while doing so.
If you’re looking for an experience that combines volunteering, relaxation, and wonderful people, this is definitely the program for you!
This stay is a lifetime memory. I took my mum on this trip. We volunteered to build house.
You can choose between stay or stay + volunteer. The options are both great! We did stay + volunteer as we wanted to immerse in culture. We wanted to give back to the community through the program.
I was worried about it being volunteer heavy and a very regimented day, but it wasn’t. It was a good pace. We had enough me-time.
The rooms were super clean, white sheets, nice rooms. They had room service & staff on site. They have 2 restaurants, one of which also has a pizza oven.
We loved making Moringa noodles together, volunteering while still seeing the sights and having the sense of a real holiday and bonding. Highly recommend.
Beautiful peace and all you need.
This is my second time at Moringa Tree Masion, not only enjoy the escape from life at the amazingly designed stay but also being involved in the home building project and enjoying the key tours of Siem Reap provided by the sweet host family and staff.
An Unforgettable Stay at Moringa Tree Maison
From the moment I stepped into Moringa Tree Maison, I felt like I was visiting old friends. Pooja and her incredible team welcomed me with open arms and warm smiles, instantly making me feel at ease. Their hospitality went beyond just excellent service; it was genuine kindness and care that made all the difference.
Every meal was a delightful surprise. The flavors, the presentation, and the quality were top-notch. I found myself eagerly looking forward to each dining experience, knowing that the culinary team would once again exceed my expectations.
The rooms were a perfect sanctuary after a day of exploring. Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, they offered a serene escape where I could relax and unwind. I appreciated the little touches that made the space feel like a home away from home.
The ambience at Moringa Tree Maison is truly special. The laid-back and chill vibe made it easy to forget the stresses of everyday life. I spent many afternoons lounging by the stunning pool, a beautiful oasis that provided a refreshing break from the heat.
What really stood out to me was the personal touch in everything. Pooja and her team took the time to get to know me, ensuring every aspect of my stay was perfect. Their genuine interest in making my visit memorable is something I’ll always remember.
Moringa Tree Maison is more than just a place to stay; it’s a place where you feel valued and cared for. I left with wonderful memories and a longing to return. Thank you, Pooja, and the entire team, for making my stay so unforgettable.
Amazing Homestay! Truly a home away from home
My husband and I recently took part in the voluntour program at Moringa Tree Maison, and it was unforgettable. A huge thank you to Pooja, the heart and soul of Moringa Tree Maison. Her philanthropy and dedication through The CAPE School and COPE NGO made our experience not just memorable but deeply impactful.

Our room was spacious and very homey! I always have good quality sleep. The bed is so comfy. Everything was well thought off up to the smallest detail. You have everything you need inside your room. My husband really love their complimentary home made taro chips! They are very thoughtful in making sure that we do not run out of snacks, water and fruits!!
This homestay is the best! The staff were all awesome. We’re grateful to Pooja for making our stay so special. Returning from each day to the refreshing moringa tea and cold towel was the perfect touch. A big shoutout to the whole Moringa Tree Maison team for being so hands-on, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile—especially Sopha and Lin. And a huge thanks to the chefs for serving up delicious meals and providing exceptional hospitality.
We’re leaving with full hearts and amazing memories!

Travel Responsibly, Impact Meaningfully
At Moringa Tree Maison, we are committed to ethical voluntourism that fosters meaningful connections, empowers communities, and respects local cultures. By balancing impactful volunteer activities with sustainable practices, our programs ensure that every step you take leaves a positive and lasting legacy.
Our Principles of Ethical Voluntourism
All projects are developed in collaboration with local leaders, ensuring they address genuine needs and prioritize community welfare.
Whether it’s empowering students at The CAPE School or constructing homes and sanitation facilities through Bricks of Hope, the focus remains on sustainable, long-term impact.
Up to 21% of your program fee directly funds projects led by The COPE NGO, including education, housing, and sanitation.
Volunteers receive clear updates on how their contributions are utilized, including materials, tools, and program development.
We use eco-friendly materials and techniques in building homes, installing solar panels, and implementing clean water systems.
The CAPE School ensures students gain skills that enable long-term academic and professional growth, reducing reliance on external aid.
Volunteers participate in cultural orientation sessions covering Khmer customs, etiquette, and traditions.
We encourage mutual respect between volunteers and the community, fostering a meaningful exchange of ideas and perspectives.
Moringa Tree Maison practices eco-conscious hospitality, including organic farming, filtered water, and minimizing single-use plastics.
Volunteers can purchase reusable bottles (at an additional cost) and cost-free eco-friendly tools to reduce waste during their stay and project work.
As a volunteer, your role goes beyond daily activities—you are a vital part of creating positive change.
You help bridge educational gaps, build confidence in students, and provide skills that enhance employability and academic success.
Your efforts in constructing homes, water pumps, and sanitation facilities directly uplift families and improve their quality of life.
Through your involvement, you see the tangible results of your work—whether it’s a student speaking confidently in English or a family moving into a safe, dignified home.
We are dedicated to protecting the dignity, safety, and well-being of the communities we serve.
Volunteers are prohibited from engaging in one-on-one interactions with children and must avoid sharing personal contact details.
Projects are designed to uplift communities, not to showcase poverty or hardship.
Volunteers undergo orientation sessions to prepare them for their roles, including cultural sensitivity, project guidelines, and safety protocols.
Our team is available around the clock to assist with any challenges or concerns.
Your insights and suggestions help us refine and enhance our programs for future participants.
A Unified Mission
By choosing to volunteer with Moringa Tree Maison and The COPE NGO, you’re not just giving your time—you’re joining a community dedicated to sustainable impact and meaningful change. Together, we’re creating brighter futures, one village, one family, and one student at a time.
